Q&A with Designist

Designist, of South Great George's Street in Dublin, sell homewares and gifts representing the best of Irish and International design. The Hands Collection of table lamps were launched here last year and can be found in store now amongst a bunch of great works by other Irish designers.

The Q&A series are interviews with some of the designers and makers that are represented in their store and I was rightly chuffed to be asked to take part. We talked totems, Mari and making for a living and took some photos in my new studio space on Portobello Square in Dublin. Check out the full interview here

Thanks to Orla at Designist for organising this and Iana Doherty for these nifty photos!

Dublin Design Night 2016

Dublin Design Night is kicking off tonight in collaboration with Image Interiors and Yelp. Areas around George's Street, Drury Street and Temple Bar have developed into a real creative sector with great coffee and nightlife giving the area a social buzziness. A wide range of creative enterprises operate in the area and at street-level there are a number of great independent retailers. Once a year these retailers open their doors till late in collaboration with partners to showcase all they have to offer. More information on the evening can be found here - http://image.ie/events/article/dublindesignnight/.

I'm delighted to say that tonight the small table lamp I've been working on will be hitting the shelves in Designist. The first in a range of products the lamp is a simple corded lamp that is hand made in Ireland.
