Q&A with Designist

Designist, of South Great George's Street in Dublin, sell homewares and gifts representing the best of Irish and International design. The Hands Collection of table lamps were launched here last year and can be found in store now amongst a bunch of great works by other Irish designers.

The Q&A series are interviews with some of the designers and makers that are represented in their store and I was rightly chuffed to be asked to take part. We talked totems, Mari and making for a living and took some photos in my new studio space on Portobello Square in Dublin. Check out the full interview here

Thanks to Orla at Designist for organising this and Iana Doherty for these nifty photos!

New Medium and Large Lamps

After a couple of busy months we're proud to announce the release of two new sizes within the Hands Collection.

The new medium lamp has a stout base with a large white shade while the large lamp has a taller, skinnier base. I'm really happy with how these have turned out and think they offer the range a greater flexibility and suit places where the smallest lamp is simply too small.

Both lamps have a new style of shade that is made from our distinctive white foam. These shades offer a great amount of light and are glare-free, meaning they emit a soft, even light during these hazy spring evenings.

The photos here were all taken by Mark McGuinness - for more information on his work check out his website here.
